The Fund is a not for profit organisation which was set up in June 2008 to actively work with and support “Street Artists” towards being able to make a living from their Art. Funding comes from the Art Market, in the form of a donation from Dreweatts 1759 (Fine Art auctioneers) based on a percentage of the sold total from their Urban Art sales, and from private donations from Collectors. The Trustees and decision makers are a mix of auction professionals and artists, and none of them are paid for the time or work which they contribute.
Recent examples of how the fund has assisted are advice provided to 8 artists on how to register their Re-Sale Rights with the various collection agencies, and an introduction to a local National Westminster Bank to advice a group of artists on the set up of a business account. Direct payments have been made towards the costs of a group of artists travelling to New York for their first selling exhibition, and covering the costs of commissioning wall pieces in a London department store and Bristol warehouse complex. Current projects being explored are links to schools to provide artists to go and talk to students about their art and try and encourage their interest.
If you have a project which you would like us to consider, please email via the "Contact Us" form, link to the left.
